10 Things You Don’t Want to Miss at Apartmentalize 2023

There are many great things for you to look forward to at NAA's Apartmentalize educational convention in Atlanta, Georgia. Regardless of if you’re a first-time attendee or if you’re showcasing your own products, here are the top 10 things you won’t want to miss out on. 

1. Welcome Reception with Maintenance Mania National Championship

Start your weekend off with a bang at the Welcome Reception! Begin to grow your network by mingling with other attendees and vendors while enjoying snacks and beverages. 

Then, join everyone in watching the National Championship of the Maintenance Mania! Each year, local NAA affiliates host events in which the top maintenance technicians in the industry compete in different skill-based games (and even a race car-building event).

Both the Welcome Reception and the National Championship will be held from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM on Wednesday, June 7. 

2. NAA Exposition

The NAA Exposition unites the industry’s top management professionals with suppliers and their innovative products. This is the perfect opportunity to grow your network and cultivate relationships with other bright minds.

The Exposition hours will be 11:30 AM to 5 PM on Thursday, June 8, and 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM on Friday, June 9. 

What attendees can do at the NAA Expo

• Attend a complimentary luncheon on Thursday and Friday
• Take a stroll through the New Exhibitors Section & learn about new products 
• Attend quick and interactive info sessions hosted on two main stages 
• Learn more about the NAA’s National Suppliers Council at the NSC Lounge.

3. General Session

There are many different informational sessions taking place at Apartmentalize this year. The General Sessions feature a star-studded list of guest speakers that you won’t want to miss. You will get the chance to be inspired by their powerful stories of overcoming trials and adversity to achieve success in their fields.

Key speakers at NAA’s 2023 Apartmentalize 

• The Wednesday General Session will be held from 3:30 PM to 4:45 PM. The great Derreck Kayongo— entrepreneur, CNN Hero, Global Soap Project Founder, and Former CEO of the Center for Civil and Human Rights— will share his story of survival, entrepreneurship, and humanitarianism.
• Thursday’s General Session will be held from 10 AM to 11:30 PM and will have Lindsey Vonn as the keynote speaker. The retired Olympian and NY Times Best Selling Author will take you through the inspirational journey of her career as one of the most successful female skiers of all time. 
• The final General Session will be held from 1:45 PM to 3 PM on Friday afternoon. Emmy-Winning Actor, Comedian, Writer, and Producer, Jason Sudeikis is a fan favorite. He will reveal if just kindness and optimism are the key to his success.

4. Game Changer Sessions

Become a student again at the Game Changer educational sessions, which are held each day of the Apartmentalize conference. 

• Wednesday’s Game Changer is Jess Pettitt, M. Ed, and CSP. From 1:20-2:10 pm, come listen to the stand-up comedian and diversity expert discuss the importance of both humility and ego in your life. 
• On Thursday, from 2:15 to 3:15 PM, listen to Brandon Fleming, who was on the Forbes 30 Under 30 list in 2020, discuss the importance of mentorship and investing in young talent.
• Also on Thursday, from 3:30 to 4:30 PM, Princess Sarah Culberson is one of the featured Game Changers. Her work focuses on biracial and cultural identity, and building a culture of belonging. Learn about how to cultivate community by attending her session. 

5. Educational Sessions

You have the option to pick what educational route you want to take. With over eighty different session options, running 50 to 60 minutes, you can explore all avenues of the industry to broaden your horizons. These sessions will feature industry experts and cover topics such as Operations, Marketing, Maintenance, Leasing, Leadership, and Executive.

6. Open Space Sessions

Different from the other informational sessions, the Open Space Sessions are an opportunity to have smaller, peer-led discussions. Industry experts will facilitate small group discussions on topics that you and fellow attendees are passionate about. 

One interesting breakout session will cover the practicality and functionality of ChatGPT and AI.

7. Supplier Success

If you’re new to the industry, the Supplier Success Course is a unique opportunity to learn an overview of the apartment industry. You will also learn skills and methods to maximize relations with apartment owners, managers, and affiliate associations.

This experience is not included in your admission fee, but it is well worth attending. 

8. Wellness Labs

Recharge your body battery between sessions at one of the Wellness Labs! Learn new routines that encourage higher and stronger energy levels by top-level wellness coaches. This quick, fifteen-minute energy management program is the perfect addition to help maintain your busy life. 

9. NAA Excellence Awards

Help the NAA recognize the various leaders of the rental housing industry by attending the Excellence Awards. The Excels are awarded to industry professionals and affiliated apartment associations who celebrate communities and make unique contributions within the industry. 

Viewership of the ceremony is complementary to those interested, but the audience is limited to 400 members. 

The Excellence Award Ceremony will be held Wednesday, June 7th, from 11 AM to 12 PM.

10. Thursday Night Party

Make your last night at the NAA’s Apartmentalize 2023 one to remember! 

Join in a night out on the town and enjoy the great city of Atlanta. The attendees are taking over the Mercedes-Benz Stadium and two club levels for an upscale tailgate. Continue growing your network while enjoying interactive entertainment, live music, and plenty of food and drinks!

The Thursday Night Party will be held June 8th from 7 PM to 10 PM.
